Join The Roman Town House Producer and Dementia Champion Megan Dunford to find out more about Dementia Friends.

There are 850,000 people living with dementia. Become a Dementia Friend and learn more about dementia and the small ways you can help. From telling friends about Dementia Friends to visiting someone you know living with dementia, every action counts.

This Dementia Friends Session is going to be held at the beautiful newly refurbished Roman Town House Site in Dorchester, Dorset. Megan will lead the session and will be joined by Steve Wallis, Senior Archaeologist from Dorchester Council. Find out more about the steps Dorset Council are taking to welcome those with Dementia to the site through special walks and tours.

Alzheimer’s Society’s Dementia Friends programme is the biggest ever initiative to change people’s perceptions of dementia. It aims to transform the way the nation thinks, acts and talks about the condition.

Whether you attend a face-to-face Information Session or watch the online video, Dementia Friends is about learning more about dementia and the small ways you can help. From telling friends about the Dementia Friends programme to visiting someone you know living with dementia, every action counts.

  • Be prepared – Please be aware this is an outdoor event, come armed with sunscreen, water bottles, umbrellas, insect repellent and weather-appropriate clothing!
