Roman Dorset: Town and Country

Dorset is rich in Roman remains, with the county town having its origins as Durnovaria and the landscape during the Roman period shaped by roads, settlements, and villas. Recent years have seen numerous excavations, finds, and research on old sites and collections.

The aim of this day school is to provide an update from some of that work and explore how our understanding of the Roman period in Dorset is changing, reshaping how we understand both the urban archaeology and the surrounding Roman countryside.

ARTIST ROOMS Louise Bourgeois

Explore the work of Louise Bourgeois (1911–2010), one of the most important figures of modern and contemporary art. This spring Dorset Museum will show a major presentation of her work in this ARTIST ROOMS touring exhibition featuring works jointly owned by Tate and the National Galleries of Scotland.
