Join our collections team for an exclusive opportunity to explore behind the scenes at our state-of-the-art Collections Discovery Centre. Get closer to our collections, including natural history, art, archaeology, and social history. Learn more about the ongoing work to care for and catalogue them, visit our Conservation Studio, and see exciting objects that have recently been acquired.
Tours are free for Members and Adult/Concession ticket holders but must be booked in advance. If you are not currently an Adult/Concession ticket holder (which allows entry to the Museum & Art Gallery for a year), you can purchase this when booking your CDC tour – your ticket is valid from the date of the tour.
Each tour is limited to 12 participants. Families are encouraged to join, and wheelchair users can easily access the facility.

Cerne Giant and other Wessex Hill Figures
The Cerne Abbas Giant is one of the most recognisable and talked about hill figures in the UK. This special conference draws upon recent excavations and new research by the National Trust, led by Martin Papworth, and offers the opportunity to explore the giant in relationship to other significant hill figures in the region.
