Supporting the Museum
Supporting the Museum
Dorset Museum relies on the fantastic work of our volunteers and generous support of individuals, charitable trusts, Arts Council England, the National Lottery Heritage Fund and other grantmakers.
The Museum is an independent charity earning income from visitors’ admission fees, membership, shop and café sales and hire of the Museum’s beautiful spaces for private events. We do not receive any regular government subsidy to fund our core costs.
You can help the Museum in so many ways – by working with us, volunteering your time, becoming a member or making a donation. You might also want to consider leaving a gift to the Museum in your will.
Thank you.

Donations
Donations and grants help us do more. They support conservation work, special exhibitions, learning opportunities and much more. Whether a one-off or recurring gift, your donation will make a difference.
Membership
Members lie at the heart of the Museum, paying an annual subscription in return for unlimited admission to the Museum and a range of other opportunities to get involved in the life and collections of the Dorset Natural History and Archaeological Society.
Gifts in Wills
Leaving a gift in your will to the Museum is a wonderful way to support and care for Dorset’s heritage forever. These gifts protect the collections and ensure they will live to inspire future generations.
