Family Science Day
⚗️Family Science Day 🔭
17 March 2024, 11am - 4pm
The Family Science Day at the Dorset Museum is a free event aimed at children aged 4 plus, but with something for people of all ages to enjoy.
Come and meet a real scientist! Get involved with some fascinating hands-on learning and experiments. Lots of experts on hand to ask those tricky science questions and test your knowledge!
There will be a great range of activities, hosted by local scientists, allowing you to try all sorts of investigations – find out how physics plays a part in our everyday lives, explore the biodiversity of the natural world, and discover the invisible world of microbes!
You will have the opportunity to find out how robots, magnets, and gravity work, learn how to use wildlife tracking equipment, develop an understanding of how fossils are formed, and use virtual reality to check out how good you are at recognising faces in a crowd!
The experiments will be interactive, and there will be brilliant scientists on hand from all disciplines!
There will be 2 time slots available from 11am-1pm and 2pm-4pm. Places are available on a first come first served basis. You will need the ticket on the day, either printed or on your phone, to be admitted.
