Collection Discovery Centre Tours

To celebrate Heritage Open Days,  entry to Dorset Museum is going to be completely FREE for one day only on Sunday 18th September 2022, giving visitors the chance to talk to staff, and explore our galleries and interactive displays.

Visitors will have the first opportunity to join our Collection Team to explore behind the scenes of our state-of-the-art Collections Discovery Centre, where they will be able to find out more about the work going on to move our collections back to the Museum site following our recent redevelopment project.

Participants on the tour will also have the opportunity to explore some objects up close in our Conservation Studio, along with this year’s Heritage Open Days theme of ‘Astounding Inventions’.

Tour Times

• 10:00 am – 11:00 am 
• 11:15 am – 12:15 pm
• 1:15 pm – 2:15 pm
• 2:30 pm – 3:30 pm

Tours are free but must be booked. There is a limit of 10 people on each tour.
